Butternut Squash Kale Melt

Ingredients

  • 2 slices Izzio San Francisco Style Sourdough
  • 1 tbsp butter
  • 3 oz melty cheese like havarti or cheddar
  • 2.5 oz cooked butternut or other fall squash
  • .5 oz cooked kale
  • 1 tsp grain mustard

Instructions

  • Step 01
    Place cast iron skillet over medium heat.
  • Step 02
    Spread butter on one side of both slices of Izzio San Francisco Style Sourdough. Place in skillet butter-side down.
  • Step 03
    Spread grain mustard on non-buttered sides then layer cheeses, kale, and squash.
  • Step 04
    Cook for about 4 minutes uncovered. Add a splash of water on the outside of the skillet and cover for 1 minute to melt cheese.
  • Step 05
    Assemble sandwich and serve immediately.
